Description
Arran Distillery opened in 1995 and lies below the high mountains in Lochranza Bay. A small distillery, all the equipment is contained in one room and on the same level. Its current operating capacity is 750,000 litres of pure alcohol. The
visitor centre was opened by Her Majesty the Queen in 1997.
TASTING NOTE
Colour: Pale gold.
WITHOUT WATER
:Nose: Toffee notes interlaced are with vanilla. Honey blossom - slightly floral, red cherries.
Palate: Sweet and lively vanilla flavours. Light and refreshing hints of malt and white chocolate.
WITH WATER
:Nose: Sweet notes less noticeable. Light summer fruits - strawberries and a touch of vanilla.
Palate: Remains light and sweet - heather, honey with a touch of peppermint.
Body: Light.
Finish: Relatively short with a sweet vanilla edge.
Cask Type(s): Refill Sherry hogsheads.
Whisky Style: A refreshing dram for a warm summers day.
